PS5 Storage Guide: 825GB vs 1TB vs 2TB (How Much Do You Need?)
PS5 games are big. Choosing the right storage size can save you from constant deleting and re-downloading. Here is how the consoles in our lineup compare, and what to do when space runs out.
Storage by console
| Console | Storage | Price |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 Fat (Used) | 825GB | Rs 140,000 |
| PS5 Slim (Used) | 1TB | Rs 155,000 |
| PS5 Slim Digital | 1TB | Rs 220,000 |
| PS5 Slim Disc | 1TB | Rs 235,000 |
| Wolverine Limited Edition | 825GB | Rs 275,000 |
| PS5 Pro | 2TB | Rs 374,000 |
Why you will have less than the advertised space
The operating system and system files take part of the drive, so the usable space is lower than the number on the box. Large modern games can each take a big share, which is why a small drive fills fast.
How much storage do you need?
- Casual (a few games): 825GB or 1TB is enough.
- Regular gamer: 1TB works, but plan to manage your library.
- Heavy collector: choose the PS5 Pro 2TB or plan to add storage.
The PS5 supports compatible M.2 SSD expansion. Compatibility matters, so call the store and we can advise before you buy a drive.
Free up space
Delete finished games, keep only what you play and use PlayStation Plus cloud saves. Digital buyers can always re-download, so nothing is lost.
